Our Story

Family Owned Business

Founded by Delores Featherer, Featherer Pet, Inc. is a family run business in Benicia, CA. Delores spent many years as a professional breeder of Miniature Schnauzers. She also spent many weekends at dog shows. Delores and her mother Charlotte started selling pet doors via mail order out of their garage back in 1983 and the business grew into the pet store and grooming shop we have today. Delores' daughters Karen Hubbard and Kim Duchene are current shop owners. They took over the business when Delores retired in 2010.

Our Staff

Our staff of professional pet groomers offer full service grooming for dogs and cats including bathing, brushing, nail trims, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, and pet styling to AKC breed standards as well as creative styling for mixed breeds. We have now begun offering creative coloring services for pets and artistic grooming.

Our company is based in Northern California in the historic and beautiful city of Benicia. We started our business back in 1983 and have been serving pet lovers in Benicia and the surrounding area for 30 years! We are honored to be chosen as the Business of the Year in 2010 by the Benicia Chamber of Commerce, the Local's Choice Award for best Pet Service Business in Solano County 2020 by Local Happenings Magazine and in November 2019 we were voted best pet grooming salon by the Vallejo Times Herald Newspaper.
